About Me

Originally from Kumasi, Ghana, Frederick “Amass” Amankona brings a dynamic blend of international experience, collegiate excellence, and professional versatility to the Richmond Kickers midfield. A standout at the University of Dayton, Amankona was named Atlantic 10 Conference MVP, Midfielder of the Year, and a MAC Hermann Trophy semifinalist, finishing his college career with 23 goals in 61 appearances.

Following his selection in the 2016 MLS SuperDraft by Real Salt Lake, Amankona has built a well-rounded career across several USL clubs, including Real Monarchs, Dayton Dutch Lions, and Indy Eleven. Known for his creativity, vision, and work ethic, he signed with the Richmond Kickers in 2019, adding depth and leadership to the squad.

Amankona is recognized not only for his skillful playmaking and defensive hustle, but also for his professionalism and team-first mentality—qualities that make him a valuable asset both on and off the pitch.

Stay close to your assigned opponent, limiting their space and options while anticipating their next move.

Fitness

Soccer players cover large distances during matches, so endurance training like running and sprints is vital. It improves overall stamina and recovery speed.

Strength

Build core and lower-body strength to improve balance, stability, and the ability to win physical duels. Exercises like squats and lunges are particularly beneficial.

Recovery

It is important to rest your body after skill training. Our program will teach you the correct, balanced approach to ensure your body is able to withstand the pressure of top level performance
